of the Grachevsky International Film Festival
Article 1
The Grachevsky International Film Festival (thereinafter — “the Grachevsky IFF” or “the Festival”; the original name — Международный кинофестиваль «Грачевский») was established in 2023. This Festival is dedicated to the memory of Boris Grachevsky, who was one of the creators of the children’s comedy film show Eralash.
The 1st Grachevsky IFF will take place in Moscow, commencing June 1, 2023 and concluding June 4, 2023.
Article 2
The mission of the Grachevsky IFF is:
– promoting children’s and young adult cinema in Russia;
– networking between producers, screenwriters, and directors working on films for children and young adults;
– creating an educational space for cinematographers working on films for children and young adults,
– scouting and recruiting talented child & young adult actors,
– encouraging the creators who make films for children and young adults in the vein of classic Russian cinema;
– creating communication channels between Russia and the worldwide community and strengthening the cooperation by exploring the common issue of educating children and young adults;
– providing a space for filmmakers and educators at children’s cinema and art schools to network and exchange their experiences.
Article 3
OOO Eralash is the founder of the Grachevsky IFF.
The Organising Committee led by the General Producer of the Grachevsky IFF is responsible for the production and hosting of the Festival.
Article 4
The Festival’s PROGRAMME includes:
FILM COMPETITIONS:
– International live-action feature film competition;
– International live-action short film competition;
– International documentary film competition.
FILMMAKING WORKSHOP / BUSINESS PROGRAMME
Master classes and screening of shorts made by college students, followed by a discussion with filmmaking experts.
ROUND TABLE DISCUSSION: «Promoting and distributing films for children and young adults».
All the abovementioned programmes may include various topics and media content at the discretion of the Organising Committee.
Article 5
5.1. To participate in the international live-action feature film competition, the film must meet the following criteria:
– The film’s duration must be no shorter than 52 minutes;
– The film must have been made no earlier than July 1, 2021;
– The film must be aimed at children or family audiences.
5.2. To participate in the international live-action short film competition, the film must meet the following criteria:
– The film’s duration must be no longer than 52 minutes;
– The film must have been made no earlier than July 1, 2021;
– The film must be aimed at children or family audiences.
5.3. To participate in the international documentary (non-live-action) film competition, the film must meet the following criteria:
– The film’s duration must be no longer than 52 minutes;
– The film must have been made no earlier than July 1, 2021;
– The film must be according children and teens themes.
5.4. There are no requirements concerning production periods or themes for live-action films screened outside of the competitions.
Article 6
All films participating in the competitive programme must be presented to the Selection Board for review before April 20, 2023.
Article 7
At the management’s discretion, the Festival covers the travelling and living expenses for international participants (no more than 1 representative per film).
The management reserves the right to invite guests regardless of their involvement in the making of the films presented at the Festival. The conditions of their participation in the Festival will be outlined in their personal invitations.
Article 8
The Festival’s judging panel is responsible for the evaluation of the official competitive programme.
Article 9
The following prizes are to be awarded at the end of the Festival:
– The Gran Prix for the winner of the live-action feature film competition;
– The Festival Prize for the winner of the live-action short film competition;
– The Festival Prize for the winner of the documentary film competition.
Additional prizes may be introduced during the Festival.
Article 10
The final decision about allowing a film to compete in a particular category will be made by the Festival’s Selection Board and motivated by the artistic qualities of the presented films. The Selection Boards reserves the right to withhold the reason for rejection and all further commentary.
The Festival’s management determines the lineup and the screening order of the films participating in the Festival.
Article 11
11.1. To present a film to the Grachevsky IFF Selection Board, the participants must fill an online form at the Festival’s official website (www.mkfgrachevsky.ru) and send all the required materials via one of the following online services:

11.2. Each of the approved films must provide the Festival with the following additional materials no later than May 10, 2023:
– a spotting list including precise timecodes, and an *.srt file with English (for foreign-language films) or Russian subtitles;
– a digital copy of the film for subtitling purposes (a lossless Full HD, mp4 or ProRes);
– a synopsis of the film in English or Russian;
– the director’s photograph and biography in English or Russian;
– film stills (no less than 300dpi);
– the film’s poster (*.psd and *.jpeg) suitable for making high-quality A1 prints;
– a trailer or teaser of the film;
– other press kit materials for marketing and promotion purposes, when available.
11.3. To participate in the Festival, the film’s copyright owners must provide the Festival with a lossless digital copy of the film (DCP, Full HD, mp4 or ProRes) with the original voiceover, including subtitles in English or Russian if the original language is neither, no later than May 25, 2023.
